Major Moscow's Attacks Cut Electricity In Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have led to blackouts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while local people in the city's east were experienced blackouts and faced interruptions to water systems, according to municipal leaders.

At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, as reported by regional authorities.

Russian forces has intensified assaults on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has requested "concrete actions" from partner nations to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the United States, the EU and the major economies - in providing defensive weapons and applying sanctions," he wrote in a public message.

He said that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 missiles targeted the country's power systems, characterizing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were laboring to restore power.

A wave of strikes hit electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the assaults on the city have been taken to hospital, according to municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the city endured significant strikes overnight. A seven-year-old child lost their life and several individuals were hurt.

The strikes come after evenings of bombing campaigns in the territory, sections of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to spot.

Authorities told journalists that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already disrupting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and authorities were bracing for additional strikes.
